That's me!

Hi, I'm Beke, German and I've been running Grubentuch since January 2024. I studied architecture (BA) and urbanism (M.Sc.) and worked as a project manager in the industry for many years. In 2023, I decided to leave the industry and take over my father's business.

I am creative and have been in love with the ocean for as long as I can remember. This shows in our Ocean collection. All tea towels are carefully designed by us in Germany and are created with modern, digital graphic programs.

We are always in direct contact with our customers. Uncomplicated processing and communication are particularly important to us.

Why Australia?

Long story short. I am German but my husband is an Aussie and we moved to Australia in 2024 to spend more time with family and friends. We saw this as great opportunity to expand the business and also sell German kitchen textiles in Australia.

Business history

In 2014, my father Maximilian Markus Hörmann founded the company Grubentuch and built it up step by step. With the idea of creating a kitchen textile business, he started to look for business partners. After visiting many trade fairs in Europe and abroad, the search led to a family run supplier in China. The foundation for the first production was laid. Read more about our materials and production.

Since then, we have been working with two carefully selected suppliers and have been visiting they factory. High work and quality standards were particularly important to us. We are particularly happy that we have found great, family-run companies as partners.

Our goal is to offer high quality at an attractive price-performance ratio.
